my pal told me about her friend from an Indian family who was marrying a Black guy. Her grandma disapproved and said she wouldn't come to the wedding until the night before when she said she'd changed her mind. At the wedding Grandma arrived all dressed up, and then died within an hour 😬

I think for a bit I have been confusing 'being pragmatic' with 'writing pretty suboptimal code so work is finished quicker'

because I am a people pleaser and have a misconception that people (but especially non technical people) are more pleased by stuff being finished quickly than by anything else

every time i go to the US from UK i adore those first 2/3 days when I'm out of the house at 6am like 'wow maybe i have figured it out and i'm a morning person now'
