Bless The Guardian for trying to pretend to persuade people that the venal cunt tendency of the Labour Party - the one they support - gives a fuck about "a neglected brief" or functioning public transport. Or public services as anything other than an opened vein for Rent Seekers to suck blood from

"lose"

"Here's a gun, we'd like you to put it to your head. I shall be very sorry to lose you. I believe that's what one says to departing staff."

It's not about "positive press" it's about trying to push forward, however timidly, with some form of public ownership. It's about killing off a 2015-2019 policy and that small remaining tendency in the PLP that carried a torch for it. Because Labour is the party of and for Corporate Lobbyists.

Small boats are a consequence of War, Climate Change and Rapacious Capitalism. So you're not going to "fix" them. You stupid fucking cunt.

Every government since 1979 (1976 tbh) has committed to Neoliberalism and core to that project is that inequality will increase but deprivation is then blamed on the failings of the deprived. Yes, it's a scandal but it's a planned outcome. It is "normal"because the political class has normalised it

a) it's not a plan, it's a few ideas most Labour MPs wouldn't listen to quoted over a post by a Labour MP saying we should listen to ideas (agreeing with a hack twat)

b) we may well wish to "reject capitalism" but there might be steps along the way, not just "motion carried, capitalism is rejected"

Perhaps you're "genuinely baffled" is because you perceive this in terms of "people thinking she's wrong about everything" and you seem to be suggesting we could find that she might be right about *some things*. Whereas I look at her and think "I'm opposed to the ideology and the class interest"

Unless they watched television. Or listened to radio. Or had conversations with relatives. Or worked in a workplace. Or went to a pub. Or stood at a bus stop. Or participated in human interaction to an extent where they heard some other people's opinions. Apart from that you're spot on.

I mean, I'm sorry, but during 2015-19 people were going to events where they talked about the Lucas Plan and socially useful production, proposing nationalisation of essential utilities including broadband and - did you miss this George - a foreign policy which didn't kow tow to Washington.

Another attribution of "the Left" to professional class centrists who accommodated themselves to neoliberalism and then proceeded to lecture/cry bully everyone that they must do the same, from, surprise, surprise, guy who is regularly featured in The Guardian.

Smokie? Cliff Bennett and The Rebel Rousers? The Leyton Buzzards? Shackatack? The Milltown Brothers? The New Originals?
