I'm dreading the prospect of having to change my name everywhere: my passport, bank account, insurance papers, doorbell, driving licence, kids, social media handles and tax authorities. Keep your culture war out of my life.
Names that fall under Article 17 of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 that are currently used for meat products and meat preparations shall be reserved exclusively for products containing meat.
These names include, for example:
- Steak
- Escalope
- Sausage
- Burger

I was just thinking they miscalculated the amount of sealant needed for that join.

🎥 My recent ClimTip talk on our Nature paper is now online!

We find that an AMOC collapse is unlikely this century as Southern Ocean winds pull deep waters to the surface, stabilising it in a weakened state.

Still, the global ocean circulation is expected to change greatly as the planet warms 🌊

They had different online presences to appeal to different customers.
Anyway I told the plumber who was as surprised as me and i ordered the bulk of the materials from another company.

When I was looking for stuff for my bathroom I found a number of 'companies' selling showers, panels etc.

At one point I got suspicious because two had the same address. Anyway after a while I discovered about 4 to 6 were in fact one company. Perfectly legitimate and It was a UK company.

Fraud, AI's big success story.
I suppose in the case of the jewelry shop they did get a product.
It can be difficult to work out if an online presence has a UK physical location.

Scammers are using AI to lure shoppers to fake businesses
Foreign firms use AI-generated images and false back stories to pose as family-run UK businesses.

Adding new uses increases the likelihood of a need for nuclear and fossil fuels.

AI is one of those uses.

It could be a deliberate alliance between the two industries. Or more likely just fortuitous timing and alignment for the two industries.

If we took a snapshot of energy use before the recent boom in data centres, the electrification of energy, including mass use of heat pumps, EVs etc would reduce energy consumption by at least a third.

Which means renewables could just about manage the demand.

I FOIA'd the FTC for consumer complaints about crypto scammers who pretend to be Elon Musk.

People are cashing out their retirement accounts and losing ridiculous sums of money.

She is planning to move the borders in some places.
Abandoning net zero will help to flood many towns and cities so that the borders move inwards.

Stop the EU's ban on common sense "meaty" words by adding your name.
These words confuse nobody and the ban only helps the lobby against meat replacements.

Voters in the UK are just as bad as those in the US.
They are going to vote for a party that they think isn't as extreme as the party claims.
They believe that Reform won't devastate the renewable's sector despite what they say in public renewables and climate science.

So many cheese alternatives (dairy free/vegan) are awful.
They smell funny.
They are usually mild tasting despite a more dominant smell.
And many have zero protein content, so aren't a direct equivalent.

Ok in cooking and baking instead of cheese, but not in sandwichs, salads etc.

I don't think CO2 remains as CO2 in water, not literally.
It's dissolved into water and forms carbonic acid, carbonates and various other molecules.

I assume it's pulling out these other carbon sources.
