Just waiting for Twitter to die.
On Amelia specifically, or the practice in general?

Even if the Libs win, they don't have to deliver their funding promises.

Why?

Because the project is already funded & will be delivered by the Council regardless.

A sneaky way to get the benefits of election announcements whilst completely avoiding accountability.

These photo ops are a deceptive ploy used by the Libs at every election.

They latch onto projects that are designed, approved & funded.

Voters see the pics & assume they need to vote Liberal for it to go ahead.

It's outrageous that our media lets them get away with this.

The redevelopment will cost $29.47 million.

What's Amelia promising?

$3 million - a little over 10%.

Even if Amelia promised the full $29.47m, it wouldn't make a difference.

The Council already has the money.

The project has already started.

But that didn't stop Amelia & the Liberals from organising another photoshoot to take credit for a project that isn't hers.

Granted, her Instagram post says 'contribute' rather than suggesting full funding like her flyer does.

But either way, she is misleading voters.

Here's an Instagram post from Boroondara Council just a few days ago.

As you can see, this project has already commenced.

And as Amelia Hamer is a candidate and not an MP, this project clearly has nothing to do with her.
