i keep learning taxonomy shit that shatters the way i view the world recently. falcons are not closely related to other birds of prey? hawks, eagles, vultures & kites form a monophyletic clade which is also closely related to owls & woodpeckers. falcons are related to parrots, songbirds, & corvids!
