Today is World Cancer Day!

7 months ago I got diagnosed with invasive breast cancer. 2 weeks ago I finished 4.5 weeks of daily radiotherapy.

If I hadn't checked and found a lump it would have gone undetected. It is SO important to check yourself!! Please check yourself!

Went out to call on some constituents and also check storm damage.

Storm Chandra should remind us that the impacts of climate change will be for more costly than delivering climate action.

Oh I also got elected Deputy Leader of @greenparty.ie yesterday. Come join the fight against climate change!
January 29, 2026 at 6:25 PM
Calling all fellow Greens! I am asking for your vote in the Deputy Leader Election. Voting is open from 12pm Monday (26th).

Together we can build for a more sustainable, climate resilient Ireland. One that prioritises climate action, nature restoration, providing homes and fighting discrimination.

I made a submission to oppose the proposed changes listed in the consultation by Government to make major changes to the cost rules for judicial reviews.

The proposal is designed to restrict access to justice, in breach of EU law and will only benefit the State and the wealthy.

1/2 In light of the violations by Grok the X AI chatbot let's look at the gap in Irish law.

There's an apparent and dangerous gap in the law. Under Coco's law that got enacted in 2020 the sharing of deepfake and harmful content is illegal so is the using of such material for harrassment. However

1/3 In light of the revelation that Grok the X AI chatbot have been responding to user prompts to remove the clothing from images of women and to create "sexualized images of children" to further post them on X, Green Party Media and Justice Spokespersons have called on state regulators to act.

Judicial Review withdrawn for Metrolink!

If the State is, as reported, buying the homes as an offer to end the Judicial Review then said homes should be used to add onto our public housing stock and be converted into public housing to help alleviate our ever increasing homeless numbers.

Thousands of commuters stuck in the past day.

The #Luas Green line being down is a prime lesson for this Government to prioritise public transport. We need investment into many modes of sustainable public transport so people aren't stuck in cars when one mode of public transport goes down.

What are the top three things we need to focus on to turn the tide on our rotting system?

-Housing
-Affordability
-Climate Action

A big thanks to the Coinnigh Clé- Keep Left campaign for having cross party discussion on the back of the success of the Connolly campaign.

From Metro to Dart+ South West to the Luas, this week has shown clearly how this Government is hell bent on sabotaging itself when it comes to providing sustainable Public Transport infrastructure for Ireland instead opting for more roads.

The Metro is delayed again due to a Judicial Review being lodged.

What is a Judicial Review you say?

Let's have a chat about it and on why public transport infrastructure is vital to tackling the ongoing Climate Crisis and our Housing Crisis.

The Metro is yet again delayed. Public transport is vital to tackling the ongoing Climate Crisis and our Housing Crisis.

The Greens were the only party to make any serious headway on the project when we were in Gov. We must continue to push to ensure we have a sustainable public transport system!

Her Excellency Jilan Wahba Abdalmajid the Palestinian Ambassador came to chat to our Young Greens at their AGM on Saturday.

I have always been in awe of Jilan's strength and courage while representing the people of Palestine but more so in the past two years than ever before. Each time I meet her..

Greens are back? We never went away!

Great to see so many Green members at the march for #ClimateAction in Dublin yesterday.

This Government are failing when it comes to Climate Action and we need change now!

Join us in the fight!

The recent attack at the IPAS centre in Drogheda is shocking, but not surprising. Nor is the silence from those who shout the loudest about protection of women and children.

The truth is today's #budget2026 VAT cut at a cost of €700m to the taxpayer would have helped my mum's now closed restaurant only a little.

What would have helped her & so many small restaurants a lot more was a sliding VAT rate. Where the likes of McDonald's get a lot less reduction & smaller 1/2

On this Budget Day, let's talk about childcare spaces or the lack thereof.

The State needs to become an Early Childcare Provider while working with private providers. This was the model we had started building that this Government is squandering.

Some lighter content! Tomorrow is Mid Autumn Festival or "Moon Festival" as I used to call it as a child.

And what better way to celebrate than eat mooncakes! Especially homemade ones from the little one!

A BIG thank you to all the lovely messages & three asks:

1) Check your breasts!

2) Write to the Minister of Health to ask her to fund cancer supports & reduce waiting times.

3) Support the various breast cancer charities this Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

People should not be fooled by the spin on the National Development Plan Review.

Behind the noise about increased spending on transport, the Govt is abandoning the critical schemes that will help us reduce our emissions, like energy innovation, offshore wind and retrofit.

Yesterday we members of the Advisory of the National Action Plan Against Racism held a discussion with civil society on racism & met with the EU Commission Lead on Anti Racism Michaela Moua. The Government is failing in our fight against racism and needs to prioritise the implementation of the plan!
