Dublin City Councillor
Former Lord Mayor of Dublin
Pinned
I had written the motion with my colleagues for Dublin City Council to leave X in the hopes that they would see the incredible harm X was causing. To be fair, DCC management has been very proactive.

Can't say the same for Gov politicians & other state agencies!

Calling all fellow Greens! I am asking for your vote in the Deputy Leader Election. Voting is open from 12pm Monday (26th).

Together we can build for a more sustainable, climate resilient Ireland. One that prioritises climate action, nature restoration, providing homes and fighting discrimination.

Spoke with Olivia Kelly @irishtimes.com my frustration about the lack of coordination between different government agencies to put in infrastructure in a timely, not wasteful & with the least disruption, feels like we are sinking backwards. There's simply no climate leader at the helm #climateaction

Very happy to support Hazel, she has worked for many years with the Greens in Northern Ireland and gets it around building a reconciled island.
Honoured to be nominated by members from across the island of Ireland for the Green Party Deputy Leadership election.

In the face of climate breakdown, housing crisis, rising inequality, and global uncertainty, the Greens are needed more than ever.

This Saturday marks the anniversary of #StormEowyn, the worst storm ever to hit the country.

One year on and promised storm supports are still not in place

This government has to do better

I have heard so many people say "Oh its just the internet" or "Oh it's just photos", when they talk about Grok, X & nudification apps.

When young women are being violated, when their privacy and agency are stripped, its not just a niche matter, it should be treated as a serious public policy issue.
A woman whose images were deepfake edited and uploaded to porn sites without her consent has appealed to the Government to use every power to stop predators.

She told Virgin Media News the abuse led to years of panic attacks and unwanted contact.

Both Lucy and Sonia are incredibly inspiring.

Their speaking out, they hope, will drive it home to people who have responsibility and power to enact change that this is no laughing matter - but one that can devastate countless lives in Ireland and abroad.

Report #1 on the impacts of non-consensual deepfake image abuse.

Sonia suffered years of panic attacks and needed counselling after photos, some dating from when she was a teenager, were edited & uploaded on an explicit site with her personal info.

She's come forward because of the Grok scandal.

I made a submission to oppose the proposed changes listed in the consultation by Government to make major changes to the cost rules for judicial reviews.

The proposal is designed to restrict access to justice, in breach of EU law and will only benefit the State and the wealthy.

Should Elon Musk & X be held accountable for child sexual abuse materials? Yes.

Should all Government reps, politicians, state agencies, be off X? Yes.

Are we doing enough to tackle gender based violence? Absolutely not!
