I'm truly heartbroken to have had this be my first experience in printing booklets. If you were thinking about working with Mixam, I highly encourage you to seek an alternative. This kind of quality and customer service is unacceptable, and I would hate for anyone else to suffer.

Even if they dismissed the margins on Yanmori's work, they didn't address the streaking that occurred across multiple pages on more than half of his orders, which I had sent them. This is NOT a bleed or formatting issue.

One of Yanmori's zines even arrived with a white corner hanging off the side, left over from the cutting process. It also clearly shows that the "bleed" part does not match the file he sent; it has been cut off somehow.

This is a screenshot of the digital proof they had sent, next to the file that I submitted. If the digital proof does not reflect the final product, why give it in the first place?

We checked over the file size just now, and it's the same. Which, of course, we already knew, because we've been triple checking this project, but seeing as Mixam feels we simply did not "review" enough, we decided to do one more pass.

The "examples on the proof" they cited were quite literally mismatched from their provided templates. We used THEIR templates, so why doesn't it match?
I had even overextended my bleed because I was afraid of this happening, but somehow it's still our fault?

I'm done being civil. I highly discourage others from working with Mixam (mixam.com) Despite misprinting ~100 zines between myself and @yanmori.bsky.social, they insist the fault is ours, refuse to reimburse one project, and will only refund the other if we destroy or return the copies we have.
