Love muscle cars and motor cycles. Metallurgical engineer (MSc), chemical engineer (PhD). Catholic convert from Anglicanism. I enjoy using the English language.
One question: what is your native language?

English is mine but, although I took them at high school, I am not fluent in French and Spanish, mainly because of lack of use.

Best wishes!

Yumi, thank you for beginning to follow me. I have just begun following you.

I am amazed by your art. I lack everything that makes the expression of your art possible. For many years, I have wondered how it is possible for me and a gifted artist to view the same object, but render it differently.

Welcome to Bluesky, Salva. What language is this? It looks like Spanish but some of the words are strange to me. It's not that I speak Spanish; I'm just adventurous with languages. Again, welcome.

Are you a geologist or mineralogist?

Brannerite is grey in plane-polarized reflected light. Under crossed polars, it displays yellowish-brown internal reflections and appears isotropic. If large enough (>0.4 mm), densely-intergrown brannerite aggregates appear purplish-brown in obliquely incident light. 🧪

. . . is ascribed the ideal composition, UTi2O6. Actual compositions in the ore sample, however, vary in a manner which satisfies the general composition, (U,Th)1-xTi2+xO6, where x ranges from 0.08 to 0.55. 🧪 . . . /3

Is peat light (low density)? What is the moisture content (approx) of the sample you're holding? Is it porous?

Sounds familiar. All the best to you. You have a strong sense of community!

Wow! I am getting an education here. Thank you, Brandon.

Does the formation of antigorite involve volume increase, like when water freezes?

I am inferring that the fractures can be either of thermal origin (influenced by the core) or of mechanical origin (tectonic stress). Also, both can operate at the same time. Is any or all of this reasonable?

You sparked my interest. What is the average combined thickness of the mantle and crust?

Does the thickness of the crust vary more widely than that of the mantle?

From one of your previous posts, I inferred that you're Welsh. Is that right? Your last name would certainly be consistent with Welsh ancestry.

Hi Chantal. Do you sing? It's in your name and I wondered if there's a coincidence.

I enjoy singing but I lack a singer's voice. I've been told that practice helps, I suppose like with anything else.

Tell about your writing.

Another Viet Nam. Afghanistan refreshed. Iraq again. No lessons learned . . . unless I'm mistaken.

Did your guide turn his back to the eclipse?

Excellent work. Is it reasonable for me to infer that the orbital planes intersect?

Read "Puppet on a Chain" as a teenager during my Alistair MacClean fandom. I may have read Albert Speer's book as a teenager as well. Ian Fleming fell in that period, also. Aaahhh, the 1960s!

Just as I was about to read your post, I asked the question, "Wasn't this a previous Kevin McCarthy?" Great post!

AGREED! The all-caps are for my own benefit, but will willingly share benefit with you. 😊

Everyone is an author now! It was better when authors were screened and verified. Then, you could take them or leave them. And your positivity was not threatened at every turn. You might have to be selective about the places you visit on the internet.
