I do find this interesting. When I came to uni in London from Yorkshire the closest friends I made were from Newcastle and Scotland. Having lived here for decades since, that's no longer the case. But I guess we were each other's welcoming committee.

I've lived in Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Primrose Hill, Chelsea, the posh bits, the grotty bits, all of it. Rarely felt anything other than very safe. Was so surprised to hear the other day of someone getting pickpocketed - that's mainly a thing of the distant past.
