Thank you Eli!! Shaking off the rust and practicing what comes naturally \o/ I'm pretty anxious when I draw, even now, so trying some friendly shapes I remember instinctively

Also like, a dedicated graffiti artist?? Incredible. The music?? I haven't been this jazzed about a score in an anime before, or very often noticed one? Anyway it's a nice show I'm enjoying it very much

I didn't even get to the object animism UGH there's so much to say.

Actually I could spend another 300 chars talking about the hair. Big and Structural with zero realistic weight, while still managing to have believable strands/flow!! My heart goes out to the cosplayers.

The eyes really get me too, seems like they really loved that yugioh arc with Malik going nuts

Bc OH my god it's so much FUN. For such a sharp/grungy post-apocalyptic world, everybody sure is running around with kingdom hearts proprotions and gloopy rounded eyelashes, hair tips. The perspective gets nutty sometimes, it all makes the action feel faster and swoopy like DDD

Heavy violence. There's a surprising amount of emotional tact for a show with such an "edgy" style and I really love the little "life lesson"/emotional intelligence bits are trojan horse'd into what is ostensibly a Punching Anime. It's VERY sweet and cryworthy at times.

Let's talk about that style

I definitely plunk those two squarely in the "Teenage Edgelord" category along with Tokyo Revengers. (Idr how much i talked about those here but I enjoyed them tons) Gachi is equal parts sharper, grungier and SILLIER in places. I'm impressed at how it manages "lighthearted" violence and emotionally

There were a couple of odd/old documentaries (00s), one about wild horses and the other about this extinct Australian lion? "Bone Diggers"

If you're ever looking for old physical media y'all, please check your library. There is a WEALTH of sweet algorithmless media just waiting to be found

Ive never seen twilight zone so I wanted to start there! I take a long time to either start or finish watching things so there's usually a long preamble of talking about it first haha
