President Trump signed an order designating English as the official language of the U.S., the White House said. It appeared to be largely symbolic but rescinded a Clinton-era mandate that required agencies and recipients of federal funding to provide language assistance to non-English speakers.

The president’s blanket release of all Jan 6 inmates, without exception, is a horrifying strike at our rule of law. It is a blatant attempt to intimidate and cow those who have and would stand up to him, by empowering them to act violently and with impunity on his behalf.
