Oslo University Hospital caught using trans patients' journals for research purposes:
- Without the patients' consent to participate in research
- Affecting minors
- 1700 of them
- Taking highly sensitive information from said journals

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

The thinking behind restricting access to treatment for trans people in order to prevent "regret", is fundamentally that people's health and well-being is only worth consideration if they're cis.

Otherwise, trans people wouldn't have to suffer to protect the 1% who regret the treatment.

I might end up leaving bluesky, but I would do it by migrating my bluesky account to somewhere else on the "ATmosphere" so I wouldn't lose any contacts I've made on bluesky.

Might even look into making a "transky" if nobody beats me to it.
