I'm never surprised but I hold out hope. I also teach the youngs and some of them are better than the men I grew up with. Any spring of hope...

and Miller's forebears - and the southern and eastern catholics that came at the same time - were actually referred to as the "unmeltable ethnics" which was a compliment, mostly. (re the melting pot, a metaphor we don't use anymore anyway)
