If you still need evidence that this was never about “legal immigration,” I’m not sure what to tell you. This person followed every rule, showed up to their oath ceremony, and was arrested anyway. This is cruelty as policy, not public safety.

yes, all of this. and those of us who weren't directly harassed knew all the people who were. i got fired as a TA for telling a prof to stop touching black women's hair and to stop touching female students in general.
In honor of Larry Summers, I asked the female members of my college class (1987) to say if they had any experiences with sexual harassment by teachers/professors, back when this was tolerated as, I dunno, the cost of attending college, and OH MY GOD.
