So my husband goes to a meet-up group every week, which is literally just a bunch of usually very nice people going to a pub and chatting to each other. He's not looking for dates, but it has always struck me as a good place to start.

This is not just about Netflix or WB. It's the whole world I guess. I maintain that we've never had a better crop of filmmakers, and never a worse business environment.

The Warners and Cohns and Mayers of the world maybe didn't philosophise about cinema the way some of their artists have, but they created cinema and not just film, and that matters.

I appreciate that Netflix has supported auteurs, but I'd like them to support cinema too. And cinema is under threat. At least the old studio moguls valued cinema as a business and therefore accidentally as an experience.

Sure is! Provides a framing device for most of the story and plays a big part in the set up. The director was fascinating on that side of it.
