In my old city in the DC Maryland suburbs, the snow plows would push the snow from the streets into big piles on the street corners - blocking the wheelchair ramps. And those big mounds took ages to melt, meaning the wheelchair ramps were blocked for many days after the rest of the snow had melted.

The same thing happened to me after doing a PhD in Ireland.

Thank you for this lovely review. Being able to spend quality time with Colin's paintings at the Ulster Museum was a highlight of my time in Belfast. I wasn't aware of this book - have my order in!
