Marcel Damesi, professor of semiotics and linguistic anthropology, describes how cognitive linguistics can be used to train the human brain to be susceptible to lies and conspiracy thinking. In times like these, when 80% of disinformation and hybrid warfare in Europe originates from the Kremlin,...
What Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orbán Understand About Your Brain
Why do some people who support Trump also wind up believing conspiracy theories? There’s a scientific explanation for that.

The XNU kernel used in Apple product (macOS and iOS) is "a hybrid kernel" combining the Mach kernel developed at Carnegie Mellon University with components from FreeBSD and a C++ API for writing drivers called IOKit. Apple rearranged its XNU kernel with exclaves www.theregister.com/2025/03/08/k...

“Quirky, but strangely funny and cute. I was happy to be with you. You must’ve had hard time at the camp, but thank you for following ‘til the end. You worked hard! I will always cheer for you to be happy when you go back. I love you. Please stop disappearing! Show us more fun things in the future”

Being a writer also means unable to think of any plot events for weeks or months to come, yet also to just wake up someday and frantically write up several new chapters of your lore.

It appears that religious beliefs aren’t inherently “evil” as some would claim, but rather their “standardisation” or “institutionalisation” makes them prone to be used as justification for any violence to assert power and privilege (listened to docu-docu about Zoroastrianism during Achemid Empire)

Україна нульових була країною, де українська не вживалася в спільноті, в мережах, політиці дуже активно. Хоча й зараз, з українською не все так добре, але ми бачимо великий "бум" українськомовного контенту та в частоті його використання в Україні

“It’s more expensive to do things quickly”
DOGE “seemed unsure” of what USAID programs they cut and is now attempting to reverse some of the cuts, says @propublica.org reporter Brett Murphy. “This is the opposite of a careful review."

Caring for the eldest, nurturing the kids, providing for the sick and unfortunate are the staples of any proper society. Human’s worth isn’t measured in money or any sort of lack of deficiency, but rather is an absolute quality inherent in all humans upon their birth.
I know people who cheer for cutting social programs—not to save money, but because they believe some lives just aren’t worth saving. Social Darwinism with a eugenics twist isn’t rare. That warning bell rang before, but when cruelty gets the green light, it spreads fast.

але росія також є частиною європи, ні? вона колонізувала багато країн, брала участь у ПМВ, влаштовувала лінгвоцид та етноцід й співсотрудничала з гітлером....
The Crimean War? A tragedy? Maybe for the Russians, because they got their asses kicked once again.

It’s beyond vile when an old terrorist horse accuses others of crimes while he and his comrades are perpetrating the largest genocide of the 21st century.

I didn’t know I’d meet people like that but I happened to meet an age peer who was against human rights and said discrimination “is not real”. When refuted with facts, he said it does not conform with his “reality” or that those discriminated just “agreed to it”

Erich Remarque’s Drei Kameraden reinvigorated some feelings I had for a friend of mine… those Robbi’s worries that he wasn’t on par to Patricia, feelings cloaked in little misunderstandings and expressed through the places they visited, love’s ability to make you alert and blind at the same time..

Gotta say that this announcement of martial law first caught me off guard but as I checked other sources it rather made me extremely enraged because even through I have never lived in a military dictatorship before I still recall my time living in an incompetent dictatorship in Uzbekistan.

Twitter is such a disgusting and an appaling platform of wanna-be two-faced actors cherry-picking facts to justify their brutal and egoistic treatment of whomever they dislike on the grounds of the perceived 'moral degeneracy' and 'illogicity' (or non-compliance with the 'common sense').
