Yeah I agree! But I can also understand not wanting to commit to a window if stuff is still not solidified. We know how that went last year. Last of the month and probably some crunch involved. They may still be working on a release cadence or if they’re splitting the season in half, etc.

Yeah I just saw my entire feed light up with doomerism that I had to put my own perspective. Definitely don’t think the show got picked up with THAT lucrative of a deal only to get sidelined. Amazon wants ALL of that Hellaverse money. I think we’ll be fine.

I can understand that! My charitable read is that it's not meant with any malice. I know "sister" puts it in a higher place than "spin-off" but if he's describing what its inception was and not what it is now, "spin-off" is likely more accurate. It's definitely "sister" now.

ALSO this is not to say that we shouldn't kick up a fuss about loving Helluva. Absolutely do that. Amazon needs to know how loved Helluva is. Please be loud!

Anyway I'm not dooming bc of this. It's expected. Nothing he said surprised me or made me upset. I know we're all scared of what it means for HB that it's in Amazon's distribution hands, but I still think it'll be okay in the end.

I think Viv's also said that bc of the deal they can bank more completed episodes because they'll likely be released in some sort of batch format (once a week at most please 🙏), which means a more fluid development style instead of needing to finish one before focusing on the next etc.

Looser deadlines/more time is generally a good thing, even if it means we wait a little longer. We do not want crunch in our entertainment. It sounds like he's hoping that S3 coming out (next year he thinks) that it'll kick up HB even more. That a HH/HB show could sell out Madison Square Garden.

He doesn't say that Amazon sees it as a spinoff, he says that Helluva was the spinoff that they worked on while Hazbin was waiting to be picked up (which many folks including Viv herself have said in the past). The looser deadlines are likely bc Amazon's fingers aren't in the the pie of its creation
