Demon-slayers are similar to other tropes like space marines in that, even when originally from an anti-authoritarian/anti-fascist/anti-xenophobic property, the superficial aesthetic predisposes them to viral misinterpretation. "Humanity Fuck Yeah" is a dogwhistle for artfully palatable genocides.

I do not like demon killers or slayers. I don’t like the culture behind it and the characters. It almost always winds up being some veil for authoritarianism.

It’s funny in media and horror, but it’s an eye roll from me when it’s taken seriously and pushed with religion.
