Rural white voters consider “Republican” as a part of their identity. It’s not about the candidate. It’s not about policy. It’s about “I’ve always voted Republican…my family has always voted Republican…” If someone could break that stranglehold, they would change *everything*.

There’s a handful of them. They’re all doing it for selfish reasons for sure. But it’s at least something.

I’m finding optimism in the GOP congressional members speaking out and against what’s going on. There are far too few of them *but* the fact that it’s happening at all tells me that these few see a sinking ship and don’t want to go down with it. The cracks are showing and I’m here for it.

It’s mostly wishful thinking rather than a complaint. I just desperately need good tv to keep me distracted from, ya know, everything. This past decade (but especially the last 11 months) have been exhausting.
