I am more partial to Drow and Orcs due to the whole built-in duality of fighting their 'evil tendencies' or cultures thrust onto them.

Like imagine instead of "counter spell" you can "counter projectiles" and shoot your opponents arrows out of the air, or perform a proper parry attack etc

I'm talking an entire "spell list" worth of physical actions and martial techniques that can do anything from knocking several enemies prone to granting advantage.
