Yes.... some of my core memories involve doing something stupid outside with friends. Hell I still have some of the scars.

We had a busybody in our neighborhood who would call the cops on kids at the playground unsupervised. The kids walked past two playgrounds on their way home from school (unsupervised) and of course they'd stop and play.

Early 2010's I got a call from a parent when my kid showed up on their doorstep unannounced to play with their kid. She had no idea what to do with kids just seeing who was around to hang out.

The library needs to be built into the local HS football stadium. They'll never cut funding there.

The reason kids don't play outside is because parents over schedule their kids. It's hard to find time to play outside with friends when you have 2 different activities every day after school. Free time doesn't exist for kids anymore.

Yeah. I can't watch anything set in NYC for much the same reason. I actively yelled at the screen watching Die Hard 3 with how quickly they got around town.

That was the one I was picturing in my mind since there is Nike Outlet there... but yeah... it's definitely a problem in my head for sure. :)
