This will be the first statewide ballot measure election, not happening at the general election date in November, in Virginia in 70 years. The previous occasion was a Jan. 1956 statewide vote seeking to call a constitutional convention.

In a 50-50 Senate or even a 51-49 Democratic Senate, Fetterman spends his last two years being a Manchin/Sinema.

NV and AZ Republicans have to be deeply concerned if these trends in swings among Hispanic voters continue into the fall.

Klobuchar is not only going to lead Democrats to a sweep of statewide row offices with numbers like these, but Democrats will also expand their Senate majority and break the tie in the State House.

Minnesota is single handedly doing what the entire Confederacy and Jim Crow South could not--defeat the federal government.

One immediate concern I have is that the Senate Leadership Fund (R) ended 2025 with $100 million cash-on-hand vs. $75 million for Senate Majority PAC (D).

Murkowski is continuing to erode her support among Republicans while doing the absolute bear minimum to appeal to Democrats and Independents. If she runs again in 2028, she absolutely cannot win if the top 4 primary is repealed.

Mortgage companies and credit card companies dont accept ICE raids, tariffs, tax cuts for the wealthy, homophobia, transphobia, or library book bans as forms of payment.

Our Republican friends have yet to fully digest this.

I won't vote Democrat if they nominate [fill in the blank] because [policy difference, conspiracy theory, own the libs, f the establishment] is the reason we are where we are.

As a Democrat, I'm over impeaching people, no matter how justified, without the possibility of 67 votes in the Senate. It's performance politics.

It only took Virginia 419 years to have a female head of state.

Murkowski is waiting on November to see what happens with the vote to repeal the top 4 RCV. If it is repealed, Murkowski is highly like to switch to Independent and caucus with Ds as she won't win a Republican primary. This is even more likely if Peltola defeats Sullivan.

There is no bench for Virginia Republicans. Going forward, as in politically similar states, they will need to rely on wealthy white men to run for office, self-fund, hope for a favorable climate. These are the Glenn Youngkins, Bruce Rauners, & Eric Hovdes of the world. DEI for the political right.

If Bennet wins, does he or Polis get to appoint the replacement?

And Trump would still have lost Virginia. Not once. Not twice. But thrice.

I'm always intrigued by progressive voters who are quick to point out Democrat X should resign due to age, and not saying I disagree, but didnt seem to believe 83yo Bernie should have retired last year rather than seek a term that will see him to his 90th year.

Justice Elias sounds beautiful, too.

Republicans, if conditions are right, can win a base election in Virginia as in 2009 and 2021. However, running a base election with a deeply unpopular Republican president in the WH is just political malpractice. No matter who was in power or the economy, John Warner knew how to build a coalition.

In 2019, Virginia Republicans in the House of Delegates were thrown out of power by voters under their own extreme gerrymander. They lost close to 1/3 of their caucus between 2017 and 2019. Absolutely brutal.
