Your mode of transport is a personal choice. Unless you are poor and have no choice but the bus
January 8, 2026 at 12:15 PM
No, landlords don’t care.

But as I said initially before everyone weighed in saying it (climate) wasn’t their problem, housing is a government policy issue

You can get SEAI grants for solar panels and a myriad of other energy related items. And if you’re poor you can get your house retrofitted for free on the warmer homes scheme.

Ok, so my pet peeve is that I can either cycle to work even though I own a car, or wait for Darragh o Brien to introduce a congestion charge?
January 8, 2026 at 11:55 AM
Yay, pay more tax but the climate is still f()cked
January 8, 2026 at 11:50 AM
Ok, what policies do you propose that are going to make people stop using the internet, ergo data centres?

You’re not going to have much success using tax as a deterrent for out door heaters in pubs

I disagree;

flying Ryanair repeatedly is a choice.

Living and working in the city and driving instead of cycling is a choice.

Eating carbon intensive foods is a choice.

Climate is a cultural issue - everybody's behaviour has to change.

Housing is a government policy issue

Wasn't he the spanner who wanted to take Dublin City Council to the European courts of justice because they stopped using a live donkey in a crib in the city?

I know its possibly the worst time of the year to sell tickets to a gig when we are in 'Moneyless January', but sure if you bookmark this post, it might resurface in your conscience in late February
