The Democracy Sausage, & associated Cake Stalls, aren’t just Election Day tradition.

They aren’t just a way for Schools & Community Groups to fundraise.

I just called into the Polling Place that my spouse is running today.

A One Nation volunteer offered to help me out by voting for me.

Whether or not it was said in jest, this is not at all appropriate.

Liberal Party Volunteers have been found handing out Tote Bags to voters as they leave polling places

Note: it is NOT within AEC rules to try to incentivise voters with gifts.

Please notify a Polling Place Officer if you see this occurring.

I would like to announce that Fart Crew’s H. Fong has now blocked my number.

There is a minor sense of satisfaction in this.

Even as I’m still getting the bloody rage inducing unsolicited text messages, because they are using multiple numbers.

WTF @jetstarairways.bsky.social !?
I couldn’t book on your website due to tech issues. Not on laptop nor my phone. So, I called.

It did not go well.
First, they assumed the type of flight I wanted, and got it wrong. If I didn’t clarify, it would have been booked incorrectly.

I was a British tourist trying to leave America. Then I was detained, shackled and sent to an immigration detention centre
Graphic artist Rebecca Burke was on the trip of a lifetime. But as she tried to leave the US she was stopped, interrogated and branded an illegal alien by ICE. Now back home, she tells others thinking of going to Trump’s America: don’t do it Just before the graphic artist Rebecca Burke left Seattle to travel to Vancouver, Canada, on 26 February, she posted an image of a rough comic to Instagram. “One part of travelling that I love is seeing glimpses of other lives,” read the bubble in the first panel, above sketches of cosy homes: crossword puzzle books, house plants, a lit candle, a steaming kettle on a gas stove. Burke had seen plenty of glimpses of other lives over the six weeks she had been backpacking in the US. She had been travelling on her own, staying on homestays free of charge in exchange for doing household chores, drawing as she went. For Burke, 28, it was absolute freedom. Within hours of posting that drawing, Burke got to see a much darker side of life in America, and far more than a glimpse. When she tried to cross into Canada, Canadian border officials told her that her living arrangements meant she should be travelling on a work visa, not a tourist one. They sent her back to the US, where American officials classed her as an illegal alien. She was shackled and transported to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) detention centre, where she was locked up for 19 days – even though she had money to pay for a flight home, and was desperate to leave the US. “JD Vance told troops in Greenland that the US has to gain control of the Arctic island”

They’re gonna invade Greenland.

Narcissistic confabulation might make it sound like there’s good reason. But I would bet that Greenland isn’t asking to be taken over.

If we want a country where everyone gets “a fair go” when it comes to housing, we need to change the broad perception of what a house is.

Whilst houses are treated as a means of financial investment, cycles of privilege and poverty, along with associated housing insecurity, will continue.

How great is a (toasted) hot cross bun icecream sandwich??

If you don’t know the answer to this question, I recommend you get on it.

Remembering how I didn’t get to attend my own University graduation, because I couldn’t afford the $100 gown hire fee.

I did the work. I got good grades. I pushed through with disabling chronic illness. But it wasn’t enough.

I missed out on my own graduation, simply because I was poor.

My wrist often dislocates multiple times in a day.
This afternoon I’m getting an MRI done. Ideally, it would show a dislocation.

Has it dislocated today? Of course not.

This is the law of chronic illness & disability.

They immediately declared it to be Thor’s hammer.

Wil Anderson and Adam Hills should do a show together.

Just to mess with everyone who thinks Wil hosted Spicks & Specks.

Managed to get to the kidlet’s school for a short time today (Sunday), with My Love, & aforementioned little’un.

We are hoping to help out a little with the garden/s &, over time, add some colour around the school that also attract bees for the veggie/herb beds, & of course, butterflies.

Watching Apple Cider Vinegar.
It’s slow going.

Struggling with big emotions fuelled by memories of desperation, & distrust in doctors (for good reason).

Not cancer, for me.
And I never fully stepped away from conventional medicine.

But I was vulnerable, & desperate.

In today’s frivolous news…
My spouse & I are currently making Beef Wellington for a joint birthday dinner with friends tonight.

(We are lucky enough to have a butcher contact for massively reduced price beef)

Neither of us have eaten one before, let alone cooked one.

🤞🏼 we don’t fork it up 😬

Seriously, why the heck is this nonsensical, offensive and downright damaging public holiday still a thing?

How are we not collectively as a nation railing against such an atrocity, to the point that pollies are forced to do the right thing??

WTF Australia.
