*noting, of course, that whilst our system has benefits over and above many other countries, it is a democracy founded in the illegal invasion of land that rightfully belongs to the Nations here before us.

My spouse is an Officer in Charge of a Polling Place. Has done it for years.

He noticed the tote bags. Stopped it, and reported to AEC. But perhaps not everyone would have noticed or acted.

We aren’t dropping this.

The issue has been escalated ‘to the highest level’. We wait to hear from someone, likely within 15 business days.

I am FUMING that there are still big companies who refuse to acnowkedge the existence & personhood of non binary & gender queer people.

My spouse, male, gave it a try.
He actually got through to a Manager 🙄

The person was actually really nice. Tried their best.

As of now, our 5yo kid’s prefix is ‘Professor’ 😂

TBF, said kid is a shitload more educated about gender than the people who made & maintain Jetstar’s booking system.

I got told they’d transfer me.
Then… the call hung up.

So, I got back on the phone again.
I’m not going to give up on this.
They do not get to do this to my kid.

I waited on hold with another rep for 20 minutes. Then, the call hung up AGAIN.

No one has called me back.

This is NOT OK.

How TF does ‘Miss’ tell anyone that it’s a kid or an adult? It doesn’t!

So, I asked to be transferred to a Supervisor.

I got told they’ll say the same thing. I said that’s fine, I want to speak to them anyway.

So, I called.

Getting addressing of the invoice sorted but it may take up to 15 days.

Got my prefix sorted.
But no such luck for our kid.

“We need a prefix so that the staff know it’s a kid. You can choose from Miss or Master”

Then I discovered that they had *guessed* our prefixes, and they were NOT correct.

They chose Mrs for me, and I do not like that prefix. I use Ms.

But that is nothing compared to misgendering my gender queer child.

An hour or two later I got the itinerary.

It was farking addressed to my spouse. The man.

Oh, hell no.

I booked the flights.
It was MY contact details given. But they put HIM as passenger 1 and addressee for the invoice!? No.

Next, they couldn’t tell me if we could bring a pram to the gate before checking it in.

I asked for fee-free payment options. They told me there would be no credit card fee charged by Jetstar.

Then I was charged a fee.

A house is a means for people to find shelter, security, belonging & community. If we want all Australians to have “a fair go”, we need the public perception to return to housing as home.
