The media’s job is to make you think that the people who want to give you healthcare are just as crazy as the people trying to take it away.

This has been on my watchlist for a LONG time. It’s such a visually cool movie. The cat really steals the show in that final scene, though. #AGirlWalksHomeAtNight

In the Iranian ghost-town Bad City, a place that reeks of death and loneliness, the townspeople are unaware they are being stalked by a lonesome vampire.

One of the things that sucks about this era is having to think about the racists all the time, because they’re so boring. They have like, three tools in their toolkit, so we get to say things like “oh look, they’re using the hammer again”

New KFF poll: Americans want Congress to extend the expiring, enhanced Obamacare credits by a whopping margin of 78% to 22% — a remarkable political entrenchment for subsidies that were a heavy political lift for Democrats just a few years ago, per Politico.

Fun labor law lesson! Napheesa Collier cannot be disciplined by WNBA because she was speaking out about her working conditions. Regardless what the CBA says, it cannot supersede labor law. If they took any action that Phee reasonably felt was retaliatory, she could sue them to hell and back.

After the Aces’ series win over the Fever on Tuesday, A’ja Wilson responded to Napheesa Collier’s statement calling out WNBA league leadership and commissioner Cathy Engelbert.

Napheesa Collier's full statement at the beginning of her exit interview.

She directly quotes conversations with Cathy Englebert that legitimately call into question how the WNBA is being led. (Part 1/2) #WNBASky

When I tell yall how much work this video took… but regardless of the views it was worth it. The W gets so much negativity around it but there have been so many people who have found belonging and joy from the WNBA.

I hope you all enjoy the video!

Kimmel’s defiant return highlights one of the most disturbing dynamics of Trump II, that so many people in positions of leadership are chickenshit frauds who would rather fold in advance than put up anything resembling a fight www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...
Kimmel’s refusal to capitulate stands out because so many other well-situated people—those with the resources, platform, and power to stand up to the president, including, initially, the leaders of ABC—have surrendered, withdrawn, or become Trump sycophants themselves. One by one, American leaders supposedly committed to principles of free speech, due process, democracy, and equality have abandoned those ideals when menaced by the Trump administration. These cascading acts of cowardice from the people best positioned to resist Trump’s authoritarian power grabs have made Trump seem exponentially more powerful than he actually is, sapping strength from others who might have discovered the courage to stand up. Defending democracy requires a collective refusal to acquiesce to lawless behavior from many different sectors of society. All of these powerful people trying to save their own skin have effectively multiplied Trump’s attacks on constitutional government, by enhancing a false sense of inevitability and invincibility.
