According to my local source, Killeen remains steadfastly mediocre when it comes to the quality of food. It pretty much sucked in the 80s.

Back in Killeen for the first time since 1987. Back then, I had more hair & less of a waistline.

One of the more incredible stories out of LA this year has been how a taco review blog became the best on-the-ground coverage of ICE raids in the city.

They do a dispatch every day, follow-up on the kidnapped people (which almost no media outlet has done), and fact-check government claims.

@lataco.bsky.social first began as a blog documenting local Mexican cuisine. Now, it’s an essential reporting powerhouse to the city as Trump’s mass deportation plot unfolds.

Tactical fetishism and "cool" shit. Take it up a level and consider strategy. Only two countries fielded strategic bomber forces with long range bombers, the U.S. & U.K. Time to shut up and get back to what passes for work in my life. Harrumph!

Important thread on precedents on National Guard use over state objections, from @lindsaypcohn.bsky.social, and nobody knows it better.

Gov will definitely appeal and will prbly rely on the 1827 SCOTUS ruling in Martin v Mott, that discretion to determine whether an insurrection or failure to enforce federal law is happening rests w the prez alone and is not reviewable.

Academic butt sniffing. Departments that hire prestige degrees even when the candidates are shit, but their degrees are blue-blood. I speak from experience.

Good book. FWIW, Rob is a fan of cocktails. I am full of absurd and useless trivia, mostly true mind you.
