there is no available evidence that donald trump understands what a tariff is, what a trade deficit is, and what the national debt is.
The way Trump talks about the problems he caused by unilaterally imposing tariffs is fairly insane, even by his standards.

My penniless immigrant parents came to the US in 1949. In around 1956, they bought a fixer duplex. My dad, who worked 7 days a week, fixed it up himself, and we lived in one unit. In the 1960's, they sold the duplex and bought a fixer four-plex. My sincere apologies for their hard work/success.
Houses are expensive because billionaires gobble up homes and fix the rent or turn them into Airbnbs. The billionaires want you to think immigrants are buying up all the property.
