The Heugh Community Garden

Based in an old industrial site in Tranent, East Lothian. The Heugh Community Garden is a peaceful sanctuary for learning how to grow your own food and connecting with nature.
Hedgehogs are in trouble. They can travel up to 2 miles a night in search of food and a mate - but barriers around gardens make this hard, contributing to population declines. Linking gardens to create a network of hedgehog-friendly spaces can help.

Bumblebees struggle to forage in hot weather, so providing plenty of easy-to-access, nectar-rich plants can really help them to survive. Leaving an area to go wild, where wildflowers have a chance to grow, can also help.

In hot weather, bumblebees and other pollinators need water to survive - but many natural water sources are too deep or fast-flowing for insects. You can help by making a bee bowl!
