The thing about "illegal orders": as a veteran myself, we were all pretty aware that our being told that we had a responsibility to reject illegal orders was less about them educating us and more about the brass having plausible deniability.

I agree, but the deck is stacked against us. Until we can somehow force actual voting reform, we're going to be stuck trying to make the best of the lesser of two evils. Although once that change does happen, things will likely change very quickly

As I understand it, West Germany worked very hard to educate their citizens as to why Nazism was bad, whereas in East Germany the Soviets just oppressed everyone. Seems unsurprising that the East still has a fascism problem
