I have seen so much heated rivalry “criticism” that’s really just repackaged misogyny. And yet the show consistently frames women as the heroes of the story. Some of the moments I think about:
Elena to Scott: “He deserves sunshine. And so do you.”

I just talked to my 27 y/o kid about this. Started with "what I imagined for you does NOT matter." She is different from me, wonderfully so, and even she has a hard time remembering that pleasing me is NOT her job. I love her, but I don't matter. Kid, your life is about YOU. I'm just here to help.

Just finished watching Flow the film from Latvia.
It made me feel like I have lost a lot of my aptitude to consume art without searching for a deeper meaning.
Not everything is that deep, but I don't know why I feel like it should be. It's like I'm looking to be disappointed 🧍

Habitant soups, which used to be made in Montréal, are now produced in USA (Campbell). Even their "French-Canadian pea soup" is made in US.

1/2 cup corn oil
2 eggs
1/2 cup sugar
3 frozen bananas plus juices, defrosted
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1 cup whole wheat flour
2 cups wheat bran
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
Cinnamon and nutmeg to taste
Baked for 25 minutes at 360°F
1/2 cup corn oil
