Cats. Comedy. Caregiving. Knitting. Aspiring voice actor. Xennial. Good singer. Also, I care about my fellow human beings. Shoulda put that first. You're safe with me. 🌈 I welcome questions about my cats.
Yeesh, I'm tired. Ugh. Man. Well. I'm entitled to that. Better get some rest to come roaring back. Those of us with souls have work to do.

Took my Dad for an eye exam, then to lunch. Now I'm freezing and would like to go home and knit, please.

Dear Mom: thank you for telling me, when I was four, that sliced pimento doesn't taste like anything. I still love it. It tastes and smells terrific. For this, and other tiny, well-meaning, harmless falsehoods, I thank you. Love, Chris ❤️

Posting this story about how Ann Telnaes got censored not least bc it'll disseminate the image Jeff Bezos censored.

I picked up my library card today. Hadn't been in that library in years. Probably never without my Mom. It was just as I remembered it. Beautiful. Peaceful. Homey. It gave me the energy to keep doing important errands. It made me feel better. Thanks, library. Thanks, Mom. #library #growth #grief

Rest in peace, Linda Lavin. I loved, loved, loved watching "Alice" with my Mom (also named Linda! What?!) You made us happy, together.

If you don't *really* think about it, how old do you think you are? I'll go first. 34.

As someone who has spent many hours on the phone with insurance companies (as a very, very skilled pharmacy claims biller in a past career) I'm going to tell you something. I am thoroughly convinced that it is ALL there to get you to give up. 🧵

There are many times o' year when I miss my Mom. This is one. Even after she lost her parents (at this time of year, four years apart) she did a great job making it a loving, joyful, sparkling time full of life.
Mom, I'm finally starting my book next year. So there. 😁 I love you.

I'm glad my Wrapped doesn't include the holiday season. I don't need my plays of cry-y tunes tallied up. I can just guesstimate that and the minutes of crying in my head.

Hi everyone. I'm watching "Running Scared" with my sweetheart this evening. I can smell winter in the 1980s. Damp wool, diesel fuel, fried food, garbage. Also, "Sweet Freedom" is probably my favorite song of ever.

It's been a week. It's been a month! A year, even!
Tonight, I had unbelievably delicious Indian takeout with my equally unbelievably amazing partner. Such a delight to just keep exclaiming things like, "mmm." "SO good!" "BEST idea!"
In conclusion: 🙂

To any of my fellow Millenials/Xennials/fans of acoustic instrumentals/people feeling nostalgic today. If you have about 10 minutes and are open to a bit of a cry, please listen to Béla Fleck and Edgar Meyer perform "Blue Spruce." You can find it on Spotify. Thank you/you're welcome/sorry. ❤️

@moderndaynewsradio.bsky.social i present again: Jimmy opens a highly successful vegan restaurant, with nary a clue what "vegan" means. Meanwhile, Joe's friend Nick (played by Nick Offerman) is convinced Matthew is an alien.
(We can maybe swap in a cooler Joe. I'm open to casting ideas.)

Re: my horror film loving Mom: after her double mastectomy, she lay comfortably in recovery, watching something very scary. Me: hey what's this?
Her: 😁 Stigmata!
Me: 😵 shoul you to be watching this now?
Her: what do you watch when you're not feeling great?
Me: comedy.
Her: ok. I watch scary. 🤷‍♀️
