Carrick-on-Shannon. Today's painting from the past is one of my all-time favourites. I painted it 9 years ago which only makes me wonder what I've done with my life since. Most years I get to visit the town and enjoy the view and the memory as I go past under a lime sky. #Ireland
Landscape format, loosely painted. Flat white roundabout junction. Street from left bends into street straight ahead and as it reaches the right halfof the painting it bends further left back behind itself. Buildings are 2 and 3 storeys, joined together, with shop fronts at street level. They are mostly light blue or white, with one red and one yellow. Roofs are darker blues. Sky is a painterly lime, street surface is orange in left foreground with yellow box markings, green as it goes right past the white roundabout, and blue straight ahead beyond the roundabout.
