It really goes to show how utterly fucking divorced from reality half of the political landscape is. They really walk around in their daily life going “I wish we weren’t soy and gay like the manly VDV” when the actual VDV died failing to take an airfield from a panic-mobilized militia.

This isn't even new to American reactionaries, Confederates hated that Union generals (particularly Grant) focused on rations and weighing the risks of casualties instead of looking cool while doing unnecessary charges.
