Peeps I know argue disinfo ops really take root in societies dealing with an underlying malady or acute crisis elites are visibly failing to address. I can see the thruline from fumbling Iraq then Katrina then the 08 crash, then nobody going to jail for any of it leading to the rise of disinfo ops.

We spent a month reorganizing our supply chain over the last round of tariffs and all that work just got blown up by a tweet. Genuinely don’t know if I can describe how bad these repeated shocks are. One is survivable, one every 6 weeks after we’ve all adjusted over and over is madness.

One mild green chute here is unlike the election, which they successfully astroturfed they can’t seem to move the needle on people blaming republicans for the shutdown no matter how hard they try. It seems that a lot of people realized the press was lying to them in 2024.

It’s still crazy how little press the Tigray war gets. It’s literally the bloodiest war in the world right now by civilian death count and in my opinion meets the criteria for a genocide. (Fixation on a minority as an other, mass displacement, systemic killing of said other, etc)

I think it’s because all these guys pay people to be friends with them and college is the last time they didn’t need to do that. Except that they don’t realize that their “friends” were forced to interact with them because they had to be in the same classroom.

I think it’s likely a deliberate choice to show up at a protest in the formal clerical garb. He’s not always in it, but it certainly makes for a starker image. Which is good. Use every tool you’ve got.

When prices were going up under Biden there was a constant deluge of news stories about it because the media did not like Biden and wanted him to lose. Under Trump there is not a constant deluge of news stories about coffee prices because they like Trump and want him to win
