This combined with SOCOM burning their clout on completely useless illegal boat strikes combined with posturing against Allies combined with pulling out procedural tricks to avoid paying mobilized national guard makes for a perfect regime consolidation strategy they should definitely keep doing.

This one was literally 100% a matter of time. I’m sure it’s happened a bunch of times already, Mar A Lago is probably 80% spies at this point. This time whoever did it probably just felt enough impunity they didn’t even bother with an analog dead drop or a secure comms method.

Parochial leftism was always a weird American phenomenon and in practice it basically morphed into extremely local NIMBY politics on the policy end and rent-seeking job programs for bald aesthetically blue collar white men on the labor front

Depressions and pandemics seem unique in the sort of psychological damage they cause, where the dangers and the remedies are not directly, visibly apparent compared to more directly traumatic experiences. I’m not saying one is worse than the other but their differences are interesting.

Every defeat of fascism has come at the hands of a popular front of socialists and liberals. Every attempt that’s failed has been the result of a failure to set aside our differences and activate this front. 2 out of three of the trucks the Red Army drove on Berlin with were gifts from lend-lease.
