Grew up in New Mexico. Attended NMSU. After college moved to Utah and Idaho. Ended up in Pittsburgh 20 years ago and am almost a yinzer now. What a long strange trip it’s been.
It’s Black Friday. Be nice when you’re out amongst the crowds because Santa is watching and….

Good morning! You look very excited about it being Monday. To cheer you up, here’s a picture from earlier this year of the lilies in front of my house. Usually I don’t get to see these flowers because the deer eat them just before they bloom. But this year the deer showed up late.

I just don’t like going to gyms and dealing with the crowds. I chose rowing because it’s a good low impact exercise that works most of my muscle groups. It’s taken me about three years to work up to the effort I can do now. This is what my set up looks like. A place to read and to exercise.

Having a successful potted geranium year. No idea what I did differently, but I appreciate the color they add to my front steps.

So far, so good with the geranium pots and the lilies.

Yet another cloudburst in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. You’d think the Three Rivers Art Festival was going on or something.

Good Morning, Freya! Love the summery outfit. Sending you some flowers back. They’re peonies from my garden. ❤️

Yes. It’s the LEGO Titanic. I built it a couple of years ago for my birthday. This last birthday I built the LEGO HMS Endurance. I hope LEGO soon makes a ship model for a ship that didn’t sink due to ice.

Same in Pittsburgh

Peonies are blooming at my house!

Take some time to rest and recharge. Classes can wear a person out, but you can do it!

Pittsburgh Magazine published an article with pictures showing what Star Wars would look like in Pittsburgh. Sounds farfetched, but then as we all know:

Saw this news story in my AP News app. Made me wonder why they felt they had to point out the letter was written before the ship sank. Either the AP needs to do better or people are just dumber and I’m afraid that it might be both. @apnews.com

Good morning! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Woke up to rain this morning, but the storm has already ended. Here’s a new picture of Pittsburgh by a local photographer, Dave DiCello who is awake at the odd hours when pictures like this can be taken. It’s a wide photo so click on it to see it all.

Maybe it’s just a language thing, but I’m kind of troubled by the whole “keep” concept. I’d prefer she chooses where she’ll sit, hopefully on the passenger side next to me. No matter what, you always need someone to talk to and a navigator is always handy just in case.

Yeah. Gus was already a senior when I got him and he wasn’t very vocal. In fact when I woke up early, he’d give me side eye if I made too much noise. We were a lot alike, we both liked to ease into the mornings. Here’s some pictures.

Good morning. Another Monday. Another week. Another chance to have fun and excel. Enjoy your day!

Excellent! It brought a much needed laugh. I counter with the Pittsburgh version of the Eye of Sauron, or as we call it sunrise over the tower at PPG Place, Downtown. Photo credit to Dave DiCello.

For the third year, the stromanthe in my sunroom is blooming. Got it years ago when I was just starting to learn how to care for plants. Three years ago, to my surprise it bloomed, and has become a sign of spring for me. Sorry for the boring background, but it’s still winter outside at Pittsburgh.

That is a big cat! My Gus Cat died a year and a half ago. He was 16. I adopted him when he was seven. We kind of rescued each other. And we had a good run. He liked to watch dinosaurs on tv. It’s almost time.
