Bc I fully believe roci WOULD HAVE been able to "forgive" dof for killing his dad. I think if he grew up not knowing dof went on to do heinous shit, he could have rationalized the situation even if he never stopped being hurt/resentful of it

The marines only making dofs inhumanity known to roci for the sake of encouraging him to put an end to it. Idk if its confirmed the marines put him into it or if its smth roci himself crafted but I think the results are the same when roci was surrounded by only the WG's opinions

Like 18y.o roci being assigned the mission bc 20y.o dof was making BIG moves in unsettling the order of the WG. Roci being 100% willing to put an end to it vs 13y.o roci not knowing what dof had been up to bc he wasnt disturbing social order in an impactful enough way.

Im also playing w the idea of roci still hating him but having a LOT more empathy as a teen bc he hasnt seen the severity of doflamingos actions like he would have in canon when he was older. Like I imagine rocis secret mission didnt exist in his mind until he saw that dof was CONTINUING to hurt ppl
