SERPENT’S BROOD The saedath of the Harlequins are both scripted performances and battle plans, interwoven on a level requiring the depthless Aeldari psyche to truly comprehend. Some saedath are extremely specialised: the Serpent’s Brood is one such. Drawn from tales of the Cosmic Serpent of Aeldari myth, it focuses on troupes of Harlequins mounted aboard Starweaver transports, supported by squadrons of Skyweaver Jetbikes and more heavily armed Voidweavers. As each of these units is named for one of the Cosmic Serpent’s children, so they play their roles on the battlefield: the Starweavers loyal and dutiful as they ferry their passengers into the fight, the Skyweavers hurtling back and forth spreading carnage, and the Voidweavers imperious and murderous in equal measure. DETACHMENT RULE BOONS OF THE BROOD Playing their roles to perfection, the Harlequins embody the swift-striking fangs and deadly venoms of the Cosmic Serpent’s brood, dominating the stage of the battlefield with their swift and vicious performances. Weapons equipped by Harlequins Mounted and Harlequins Vehicle models from your army have the [SUSTAINED HITS 1] ability. Each time a Harlequins unit from your army disembarks from a Transport, until the end of the turn, that unit’s weapons have the [SUSTAINED HITS 1] ability. STRIKING STRIDE SERPENT’S BROOD – STRATAGEM Springing between pillars and rubble, bounding forwards as though running on thin air, the Harlequins acrobatically hurl themselves into battle. That's how 17c Europeans approached making cheaper mass produced armor- South German example doesn't have layered flexible skirt armor, just one plate made to look that way:
This blackened armor was made in the first half of the 17th century in Southern Germany. Such munition armor had only a relatively small material thickness and was mass produced in a preindustrial way to equip common pikemen soldiers. The tassets still have a look like if they were made out of several lames, but in fact they are just made out of one plate each, because in this way it was faster and cheaper to produce. The complete armor, consisting of a gorget, a breastplate with fauld and tassets, a backplate, some lamellar protection for the shoulders and a cabasset helmet. Pikemen and musketeers were the main infantry units active during the military conflicts of the first half of the 17th century. Towards the end of the century, pikemen were largely replaced by the musketeers. 1600's Dutch master Rembrandt loved the Cool Asian arms, armor, fashion, culture flowing into his country.

So when painting 'trad christ west bible' scenes he'd add the awesome Malay Kris / Keris (In Samson's eye) and cool South Indian "Sang" spear he collected.

God of War Mars with wakizashi:
The Blinding of Samson shows an episode from the biblical story of Judge Samson. Samson was a Nazarite, which gave him special strength when he kept three conditions, such as not cutting his beard and hair. The scene depicted follows the cutting of Samson's hair by Delilah, who betrayed him to the Philistines. This aspect of the plot is repeated in this painting, since Delilah is shown in the background fleeing with a shock of hair and scissors in hand.[1] Rembrandt also portrayed different aspects of the plot with the other characters. After his hair had been cut off, Samson had to be wrestled to the ground and tied up before his eyes were gouged out. This is what Rembrandt conveyed through the combatants, one of whom fearfully enters the scene, another holds Samson to the ground, one ties him up and one gouges out his eyes. The immediate action of the painting is the climax of the story, the blinding with the penetrating knife and the spurting blood. However, the viewer can reconstruct the entire action via the image.[2]

Adding, Ikuta Yamashita (Evangelion unit designer!) in 1989 did his EVA-esque Nu Gundam, modeled by late great hobbyist "Model Kingdom 模型の王国".
