The Bolshelviks also repressed Anarchist opposition to their regime with police brutality, and they still had an oppressive police force. It's still the characteristics of State upholding the Status quo of Capitalism.

Because they didn't reach full Communism yet, they were on the right path towards it. But overall, the Soviet system benefitted those who lived in it. Everyone had a job, everyone had access to healthcare, everyone had access to basic material needs like housing, food and water.
