young people just suck at communicating their needs and feelings tbh, its one of my favorite things about being old people just say what they mean bc there aint much time left for the bullshit

also i cant stress enough how NOT GOOD of a date movie this is

its not a good movie, its also not so bad its good

its just boring as hell and i remember thinking as the movie was playing "i have made a terrible choice" but i felt locked in

anyway highschool sucks

i still think about this from time to time, it was better that we didnt hook up for a variety of reasons but at the time it was the biggest deal in the whole universe
November 24, 2025 at 12:41 PM
yep. its either gonna be an insane spend for a company, or "just a toy" for execs to use (and very quickly get sick of)

lets roll

in fact, all they had was a 6pack of beer and a bottle of wine, which might have been worse than having no water at all
November 24, 2025 at 12:22 PM
i honestly think vr enthusiasts need to think this out a little bit. work is done in excel/powerpoint

mouse and keyboard is fucking KING for those tasks- a virtual tactile display would be a nightmare to use from a GUI perspective

there is simply no usecase for VR that keyboard/mouse doesnt beat
November 24, 2025 at 12:21 PM
i think every corp that has some sort of physical product in retail stores will have a very small segment of people in marketing that will use it- because they can simulate product placement on shelves - that's useful to them

but thats VERY specific and not enough to support a whole product line
November 24, 2025 at 12:17 PM
That too. like the only possibility here is that they deploy VR headsets to everyone from middle management up (ungodly costs, no way a board would approve) or just the execs (still expensive, but now its just a toy)

and you know a spreadsheet aint gonna work the same in VR space so why bother?

November 24, 2025 at 12:08 PM
so can you fucking imagine the headaches that would come with a bunch of remote execs trying to figure out a fucking VR helmet?

can you imagine them going to the board to justify the spend?

it was never gonna work
November 24, 2025 at 12:02 PM
you know what happens in a meeting when the intros are all done and the actual content is shared? cameras go off one by one

because it turns out, the presentation is the focus of the meeting, not dorkass people sitting around the table

also execs can barely open their laptop without a ticket ->

I really relate to a few spots where they kinda realize the gravity of their situation, should they run out of water or something go wrong. I've almost fucked up like that many times in my life in the wilderness, pre-cellphone era
