I cracked my breadmaker today for the first time since my stroke and made a loaf of stuffing bread that is now cubed and waiting to be toasted into croutons which will be turned into low fat, low sodium Thanksgiving stuffing.

Saw my neurologist today for a six month follow-up (7 1/2 months post-stroke). She was very pleased with where I'm at in my recovery and "graduated" me. I don't need to follow up with her again for a year unless something else comes up. 👍

Neurofatigue is terrible. I feel exhausted almost everyday, just trying to do the basics. Running to the grocery store for bread often feels like too much. Even as many of my other deficits improve, the neurofatigue just doesn't let up. 🤦♀️

I did a thing...Homemade ricotta gnocchi and homemade sauce with herbs from my garden, spinach, and mushrooms. Putting all that putty play from OT into practice.

I was able to go for my first real walk today since my stroke. Took me 32 minutes and definitely felt the fatigue and felt it in my ankle, but I was able to get through a whole mile on a small paved trail. Not the 2.5-4 mile hike on a moderate terrain trail I used to do, but I'm still proud.

Got to hold my six-week-old great niece for the first time today! She's an adorable 8 pound chunk with a head full of auburn hair and the bluest eyes. 😍

Guess who got more PT sessions than expected on their reapproval from insurance but is doing so well, we're going down to one session per week on both PT and OT. 🙋♀️

Guess who had to disconnect her Holter monitor after less than 12 days and wait for her skin to clear up and special adhesive strip to be sent to her, because she's severely allergic to the ones provided and it can't make proper contact because the rash is too bad. 🙋♀️

I'm exhausted, and we're expecting freezing rain, so I'm spending the day in fuzzy pajamas and making a pot of vegetable beef soup, because I'm comfort seeking.

Set to lose my hair on Saturday afternoon, because this unruly mop is just too much for me to handle right now, so we're going from long waves/curls to a messy pixie in an effort to make life a bit easier, but I've been threatening to shave it for years, so...🤷♀️

Finally got my diagnostic mammogram today, which has been in the works since November. Definitely more painful post-stroke, as I normally have little to no discomfort, but the hypersensitivity on that side definitely felt the compression.

Today feels like a day for warm and tasty comfort food, so I think I'll make a pot of split pea soup (no ham, because of the salt and cholesterol, but I'll mix half chicken broth and have veggie broth and add some Liquid Smoke for that hammy hit. I'll make some homemade cornbread too.

Planning on spending the day watching mindless TV, playing cards and board games with my mom, and taking naps. Claiming cognitive and fine motor rehab and the need for extra rest. 🤷♀️
