I just realized that the US gov't spends a few billion on Musk's 6 companies each year, roughly similar to what it spends on USAID.
Our taxes support a billionaire at about the same rate we support billions of people. And now that billionaire wants to cut aid?

PEPFAR, started by George W. Bush, has saved more than 25 million lives worldwide. 600,000 people would die over the next decade in South Africa alone, which relies on PEPFAR for only 20% of its H.I.V. budget. Some countries are almost entirely dependent on the program.
