Aotearoa. Lazy lout, work in liquor so will post drinks. Always a hairs breath away from a bad decision. Horny for spring, life, delicious food and you.
The dirty martini needs to be more olive than martini.

View from kauri point centennial park looking over the harbour to central Auckland. Summers coming friends. I can taste it.

Please download an app to fully enjoy the book. That’s an immediate no from me. published in 2015, what are the chances of the app still being available? As suspected website no longer exists and neither does the app. Guess I’ll just read the book in the sequential order 🤷‍♀️ what could go wrong.

Don’t even need to go to Japan for an epic egg sando

I don’t meditate. I probably should. But I do like to come home and make a meal that requires a solid 30 minutes of fine dicing.

I keep buying books at op shops, even though I barely have the discipline to read them when the doom scroll machine is nearby, even though I have a box of books to donate in my boot.
But finding other people’s cute notes is an experience you just don’t get from reading a library book on a kobo

Found a petrified alien visitor on my stroll yesterday, frozen mid stride in the tide line.

I’m new to bread making so don’t make fun of me, but I had no idea you could just throw bread dough in the fridge and it would still triple in size. This is an easy beginner focaccia recipe and I can leave it for another day or two in the fridge till I’m ready to bake it. Amazing.

Anchovy stuffed olives for the dirtiest martini possible. (I’m an introvert but if you promise to be quiet I’ll make you one when you come over)

Another excellent beer from Altitude brewing. Surprised this one didn’t place.

I can’t explain how good this is. You’ll just have to trust me.

This is why I don’t bake things. As an employer of the ‘go with your gut’ or ‘chaos cook’ method as one partner calls it, I inevitably fuck up precise recipes. Carefully weighed the warm water for this, then absent-mindedly picked up the jug instead and poured the whole lot in. It might be ok

Beer of the week! Liberty Boneface colab, riwaka is dialed up to eleven and the first sip will make you go “Oh my”. Superbly well done

I came across a recipe “focaccia for one” I am skeptical. But I’ll give it a go. Worst case scenario I’ll get some kind of bread.

The baker needs a beer. Well fuck me. What in the rocket fuel.

Half tiki cocktail half beer. Perfect.

No the worst, but not the greatest to navigate after an evening on the town for that 2am pee.

I know we don’t tip in NZ. But after wandering the tourist trap of Queenstown and having mediocre food and boring drinks I found a proper cocktail bar that could make me exactly what I felt like, with customer service soooo good it made me nervous. Well I got flustered and tipped didn’t I.

When on holiday I like to treat myself to local fine dining. I found a gold medal winning mince and cheese pie. They put extra cheese in the pastry on top. That is a gold medal winning idea for sure.

Very serious business today, building a damn for the beavers. Foreman is a hard taskmaster but I helped carry all the logs. 10/10 dam, would build again.

Didn’t have anything planned for dinner, so I hand minced a pork steak and whipped up something bolognese adjacent. And somehow it was the best meal I’ve had all week.

Today’s fungus hunt turned up many marvelous specimens but on my wish list was birds egg fungi and I found some! A little past their best but still looking cute. (Just like me) Beer to celebrate after.
