Who the hell does he think the people are going to buy it from? It still goes to the insurance companies. Medicare for All would resolve this dilemma of his own imagination.
Trump: "I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE."

If Dems stand their ground during the shutdown, people go hungry and health care costs go up. If Dems capitulate to Rs, then people go hungry and health care costs go up. Same outcome, so STAND YOUR GROUND. Force them to own their actions.

I scored the first 4 Old Man's War in hardback at the thrift store. I feel guilty for purchasing them there when the author doesn't benefit from my purchase, but I do own most of the series in trade paperback that I bought new. Guilty pleasure for sure. @scalzi.com

I'm starting to get a little concerned about all of the topics that Speaker Johnson is either completely unaware of or just doesn't bother to keep up-to-date on daily. Is he aware of what his job is? Is this also dementia?

I abhor political violence, but Charlie Kirk is just one victim of gun violence today and he believed living with the possibility of gun violence was worth the risk to have an armed citizenry. These school children didn't.

It's probably going to be detailed in about 2 weeks.

It will be so exciting to learn who the buyer is in 2 weeks!
Trump: We have a buyer for TikTok, by the way.

Bartiromo: Who's the buyer.

Trump: I'll tell you in about two weeks.

I heard it would be available in about 2 weeks.

In the first 10 days since the Trump Organization announced it would be launching the $499 T1 smartphone there were already a confusing series of changes to a product that was initially supposed to be arriving as soon as August.
The Trump Phone Is Already a Lot Different From Last Week
WIRED had many questions last week about the Gold T1 Smartphone. Now we have even more—like where that “made in America” pledge went.

I liked it better when things were always promised in "two weeks" and that two weeks was always two weeks away no matter when the promise was made. I was hoping the tariffs would push out two weeks for infinity.

He is so out of touch with everyday people that he thinks "groceries" is an old fashioned term. If it were, then there would be no reason to use it because we wouldn't relate to it. I make a grocery list every week!
Trump: "An old fashioned term that we use -- groceries. I used it on the campaign. It's such an old fashioned term, but a beautiful term. Groceries. It says a bag with different things in it."

Dems should be shouting that a govt shutdown is on the Repubs. By refusing to work with Dems to bring a bipartisan CR, the Repubs own any shutdown that occurs. Still time to pass a bipartisan 30 CR.
March 14, 2025 at 6:10 PM
I am disgusted. I make daily calls to @bennet.senate.gov and John Hickenlooper to oppose cloture and the CR. I call Schumer's office daily, too.
March 14, 2025 at 12:38 AM
Dems have to stop capitulating to Trump and this shitty Republican congress. Stand up and do what is right even if it is painful and uncomfortable. Vote NO on cloture and NO on the CR. Be what we need now. @schumer.senate.gov @bennet.senate.gov do not obey in advance. Do not make it easy.

It won't matter that it takes a literal act of congress to end USAID or the DOE if their records, databases, servers, etc, are already compromised. If they walk back into their daily routine and cannot perform their jobs anymore, then they are effectively ended.
