I've been trying to think of a response that doesn't sound too much like a platitude – "I've been trying for 35 years, maybe I'll get there one day"; "the journey is the point" etc. – but the thing is I do actually believe those things. All I can say is I wish you luck.

Where creative pursuits are concerned, I always think "be the best version of yourself" is the standard to strive for.
