It's just twitter. Bsky is just twitter. Everyone was put off by the actually decentralized platforms and went to Twitter 2 instead. And now Twitter 2 is rapidly collapsing into Twitter 1 and we're all gonna act surprised even though it was literally made by the same people.

I have mixed feelings on this, cause I've been on E for ~4 years and it is very hard for me to not be read as a guy to cis people. I can't guarantee what E may do in terms of how you read to other people.

But what my gender reads as matters way less to me than the fact that I fkn love my body on E

Godzilla Minus One took me from being casually into Godzilla due to liking Kaiju stuff in general to being a rabid Godzilla enjoyer. I've been working my way through the classics because of it, and still nothing quite measures up to it except maybe the original. Genuinely one of my favs of all time

Like, Klein is strategically wrong, too. The left can't win by leaving people behind. Dems have tried that strategy and it doesn't work. But Coates doesn't even entertain it, not just for strategic reasons, but because politics is about people that matter to him. It's not just winning or losing.

It's not just regulating their emotions either. Coates was the only person in that conversation who seemed like he *had* emotions. Klein was so focused on the fact that his side lost the election that he completely lost track of feeling sympathetic for the people actually being hurt by this admin

I say it all the time, but imma say it again: a lot of very book smart people lack the emotional education and communication skills that would allow them to generate the courage they want to embody in their work. They are incurious about their own emotional lives, and consequently, those of others.

It’s obvious to me that he resents the places his theories cannot reach. And this resentment invokes a profound lack of curiosity, an intellectual eye-roll, for the stories of those who have always had to know what he can’t fathom. That’s why his analysis is flawed. And why he won’t see that.

My new job is really fucking hard and its wringing everything out of me.
