this is also before we get to the question of whether age controls actually work, or asking how we define a social media site

or asking whether social media for adults might benefit from stricter moderation or legal oversight

but I guess a ban is simple & people do love simple

just in the example given: we dont ban kids from socialising, just from socialising in pubs without supervision

by the same token, I think people could support banning kids from pornhub & onlyfans, but not a moderated reddit group or youtube channel

building consensus, iterating ideas & responding to feedback, and many other things the magic autocomplete & averaging machine has no clue about

I suppose the buyers who only want to be told what they already know could use them - but "my LLM was wrong" is not going to fly on the earnings call

This is all so tedious. Nobody should pay 500k for genAI halucinations. Its like paying for reports you found in the dumpster outside the fraud office

Useful reports take weeks because during those weeks you are doing actual research like talking to target buyers, modeling scenarios,

which is why they are so good at programming, where they write the use story, implement the code, then write and implement the tests & conduct the reviews before pushing to prod

no, wait....

Farage is somehow still popular, but is now also the main threat - so he’s going to be public enemy number 1 in all campaigning

And just watch how he melts under scrutiny

I still think leave won because reform was fronted by Cameron, a much hated figure who’d spent 6 years pushing austerity

Same effect for Johnson and Starmer winning more because other side was so very unpopular

Look, AI isn’t for using, it’s for selling to gullible people
February 14, 2026 at 2:30 PM
laugh at this insane prediction?
February 12, 2026 at 7:30 PM
Same here

Am so tired of interruptions that should have been an email

Especially non urgent/important interruptions from company comms featuring the latest trivia that could have been in the 17 different weekly news emails that nobody reads

He probably spoke a bit of Latin which would have been around at the time, and Latin is closer to Spanish, than English is to Aramaic

So by that logic….
February 9, 2026 at 7:29 PM
Do they think Jesus spoke English?
February 9, 2026 at 7:23 PM
I despise johnson, but he did put some effort into selling his achievements to the country, no matter how modest those achievements were

I think starmer could gain a lot by talking to the country more about everything they're doing + why it matters, instead of surrendering comms to reform

I read the beeb story

There is absolutely no way a man who was into these videos accidentally found himself staring in one

QT needs realtime captions with count of each panelist disingenuous arguments, denials, deflections and question dodging when challenged, and of each case of talking over other panel members, bad faith arguments and whataboutism when spouting off

And ideally man with steel chair for repeat offence

I had to use 38 pans to produce this dish

I call it "gin and tonic"

it always comes down to two camps:
1. people who either believe in the mission or don't care either way
2. people who take a stand, refuse to work on BS

Group 1 get promoted, pay rises & eventually end up on the wrong side of history
Group 2, get put on PIP, demoted, laid off, etc & eventually win

"we are going to rate developers base don how many lines of code they produce"

lol - I wonder how that will work out for them
February 4, 2026 at 1:30 PM
I expect him to name him us ambassador
February 4, 2026 at 12:33 PM
nothing stopping starmer releasing all vetting files for the last decade

if we are going to have chaos, might as well be real chaos

Added to that, management are usually bought into “use this magic, become faster, or else” despite having no clue what the magic is, how/if it helps, or any idea of side effects

Hence nobody wants to be labelled a Luddite and get ostracised or sacked
February 4, 2026 at 7:55 AM
A lot of seems to be the ai bros continually self select the most credulous eager to beleive bodgers to become evangelicals for each round of tools. They push “dont think dont ask questions, just use” all the time. And if you’re not on the latest BS you’re nowhere. FOMO does the rest
